If you will be travelling up from England via the M6, you have a choice:

1. The quickest route is via the A74, A74(M), M74, M73 and M8 round the north side of Glasgow city centre.
2. The scenic route is to leave the A74 at Gretna and take the A75 and A713 through Dumfries & Galloway.
3. An intermediate alternative that avoids Glasgow is to leave the M74 south of Glasgow and travel via the A71 and Kilmarnock.

If you will be travelling from within Scotland:

1. From the north-east of Scotland or the Edinburgh area via the M8.
2. From northern Scotland or the north-west coast via the A82.
3. From the Ferry Terminal at Troon.
4. From Glasgow Airport.
5. From Prestwick Airport.
