Langside Farm. Earliest records of the farmhouse date back to 1745, the year of the last Jacobite Rebellion led by Bonnie Prince Charlie against George II's government forces. The rebellion was finally put down by the Duke of Cumberland's army at the Battle of Culloden the following year.

Langside is an ideal base for leisure and business trips to Ayrshire, and is close to award winning restaurants. Easy access by car or train, to Glasgow, the Clyde coast, ferries to Arran and Ireland and both airports.

Langside Farm is an ideal base for:

• walking around Dalry, on the Ayrshire beaches - and many other places,
• cycling - Sustrans cycle route 7 (Glasgow-Carlisle) passes close by,
• golf on the "Great Golf Coast" (Prestwick, Turnberry, Royal Troon and many others - more than 30 courses in Ayrshire),
• exploring Robert Burns' country,
• visiting Culzean Castle, Edinburgh Castle, the Blair Estate, the Burrel Collection, Irvine Harbourside (one of the original Spice Trade ports) - and the many other historic attractions,
• sailing in the Firth of Clyde or up the West Coast to the Hebrides
• fishing
• painting or photography - the West of Scotland offers some of the finest scenery in the British Isles (from the viewpoint above Largs on a clear day you can see over Arran and the Mull of Kintyre to Northern Ireland),
• or just relaxing, (picnic in the woods or by the Pitcon Burn - an ideal spot for children to build a dam or just mess about).

Access is easy to: Glasgow (35 minutes by car), Edinburgh (1¼ hours), the Clyde coast, Largs (10 minutes), the ports of Ardrossan (15 minutes) for the ferry to Arran and Troon (20 minutes) for the Seacat to Ireland, and both Glasgow and Prestwick airports (20 minutes). Scotrail also operates regular services from Dalry and Kilwinning to Glasgow Central Station and most of the coastal towns from Largs in the north to Stranraer in the south. (We can provide pick-up and drop-off facilities at Glengarnock, Dalry and Kilwinning stations by arrangement.)
